Decide4yourSchool! Building a new democratic governance through Participatory Budgeting

Internet is revealing a new paradigm: in order to understand society we must think about "relations". Relations are the basis of deliberation, collaboration and democracy. However, traditional democracy is (still) about territorial and static community and territorially-based representation, while internet has overcome any borders and connect people in a liquid way, that is, on projects and priority issues.

Participatory Budgeting is nothing more than that. It is not a simple "tool" for participation but it envisages a new representative democracy where civil society behave like a political society.

By fostering aggregation around priority issues, this Participatory process reveals and empowers thematic communities (clusters) and acknowledges and legitimate single issue representatives (nodes), connecting them in order to know each other and deliberate over the city policies.

This barcamp aims at presenting how PB works and discussing how to improve it, starting from its spread among the youngsters, especially in the schools, where the "future" citizens will think about political representatives behave like facilitators rather than substitutes of their fellow citizens in the decision making process.
