OPIN is a result of the research and innovation project "EUth - Tools and Tips for Mobile and Digital Youth Participation in and across Europe", which was funded by the EU research and innovation programme "HORIZON2020". The project involved eleven partners in eight European countries.
OPIN was jointly conceived and realized by the nexus Institute for Cooperation Management and Interdisciplinary Research GmbH and Liquid Democracy e. V. within the EUth project.

We like to use OPIN, like every other initiator on this platform. It is important for us, to see how everything is working and what things need a change.
In addition, we are using OPIN for our OPIN community and provide a space for exchange and discussions.

Liquid Democracy
Our vision is a democratic culture in which participation is a matter of course for everyone.
Liquid Democracy is an innovative concept for the liquefaction of rigid structures that limit our democracy. And Liquid Democracy is us: an organization dedicated to the development and application of this idea. We think daily about how democratic processes can be improved on a small and large scale. Better, for us, this means above all: more participatory, more transparent, and more equal.
nexus Institut
nexus designs and moderates participative processes: from complex citizen participation projects to multi-stakeholder formats. We design decision-making processes together with those involved and focus on transparent communication, active cooperation and sustainable consensus.
nexus researches how active citizenship and the participation of different actors can change social development for the benefit of all. To this end, we realize application-oriented and practical research projects.
